David Shorey Bard of Grove of the Oak, House of Danu David Shorey represents the Sacramento Grove of the Oak, Inc. on the Board of Directors of the House of Danu and serves as Chair of the Gorsedd Promotion Committee. David is an Ovate Druid with the Sacramento Grove of the Oak, Inc. and a Bard with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. He is also an initiate of Hyperion in the Unnamed Path, a spiritual tradition for men who love men. David serves as the Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Grove of the Oak, Inc. David has also been actively involved in the queer leather/BDSM community for the past nine years. He is a member of Sacramento Valley LeatherCorps, of which he has served as an officer on and off for years. He holds the 2002 Sacramento and Northern California Leatherboy titles and the title of 2008 Northern California Community Bootblack. david was pinned “Mama’s Capitol boy” and “Mama’s True boy 4 Life” as a part of “Mama” Sandy Reinhardt’s family. He has taught classes on Leather 101, bootblacking, puppy play, spirituality of Leather/BDSM and has been on other panels of submissives, service boys, and slaves. David is also the former President and Treasurer of the American Heraldry Society, an organization founded to study and promote the use of heraldry in America. He also served two terms on the City of Sacramento’s Citizen Advisory Committee on Parks and Recreation (Now Sacramento Parks and Recreation Commission).
