Written by Tarw Llwyd

Once again I find that I --
     amazed by what I see and sense --
sit and watch the world pass by
     in present, past and future tense.

But what is Time, that it should be,
     instead of intellect's invention,
master over thee and me?
     And what of Space and its intention?
Incarceration, could it be?
     Or are we mired amidst convention,
and life, for us, a mere detention?

What are the egocentric minds to say
     that they know all there is to know?
When we know, just as well as they,
     we all have very far to go.

Each human sense tells us a lot
     about the universe apparent,
but many senses we have not;
     and if one more were ours inherent,
How much more, then, could we know?
     How much less could men say no?

Since man first upright trod the lands
     he gazed upon the furthest goal;
With even science in his hands
     he can't deny Immortal Soul.

Belief in death: the end of all
     competes with death as birth;
and all that is, from great to small,
     or from the void or here on Earth,
confronts the Everlasting Choice
     and hopes to hear the One True Voice.
